In the middle (at least, hopefully most of the way through) of a lockdown I had the opportunity to take the first step to restart my travels. Getting the first shot of the Covid vaccine means I have a better chance to escape contracting or succumbing to the scourge. It also means than whatever various countries and airlines choose to do to identify those who can travel without spreading the virus I will be ready!
(3/5/22) Note the innocent hopefulness, "the middle" in early September. Nope, try barely two weeks into a near as damn 4 month lockdown / border closure. And it will be just under a year before I will get to head overseas again (unless something else happens).
No pain, didn't even notice the needle and absolutely no side effects - happy with that.
